Mental Health struggles aren’t linear, and you’d be surprised just how many people have their daily struggles with similar things you do.
In my own words.
I’m a therapist and writer, and I started writing because I kept noticing things in session that felt too important to stay in the room, patterns around race, family, trauma, and the society at large. This site is where I think out loud about all of that.
My work as a therapist is trauma-informed and systems-aware, which really just means I’m always asking: what happened to you, and what were you up against? I believe context is everything. The people, structures, and histories around us shape us in ways that are easy to miss if you’re only looking at the individual.
When I’m not in session, I’m probably reading something, rewatching a film I’ve seen five times, or having conversations with colleagues and friends on the various parts of life that influence our decisions and behavior.
